Big Things Happening at HCHS

Although the world has been full of chaos, Harlan County Health System has remained on track. We are continuously working on ways to improve our healthcare system in order to make sure our patients receive the best care and experience possible. In the last few months we have been able to successfully make our bond payment of $300,000! We have also had some recent visits with individuals that could help significantly improve our patient care and services, which include: a general surgeon partnership, Rural Health Partners, and representatives from Kearney Regional Health Center. The Foundation Board is also continuing to bring more funds for the new clinic. Lastly, the HCHS Board of Trustees has approved for HCHS to become a "Studer Hospital." They are the "gold standard" in terms of hospital cultural development. The Board has allowed us to subscribe to the full three year Studer organization that will be working with us, in partnership, helping us build an even better culture and processes in an effort to provide excellence in patient care.

Most recently, the HCHS Board of Trustees has also offered Dr. Patrick Auman the permanent position as Chief Executive Officer, which he has graciously accepted. "It's a great time to be a part of HCHS and I am just so pleased to be coming along for the journey," Auman mentioned.

Great things are happening at Harlan County Health System and we hope you are just as excited as us for the changes to come. Stay tuned for more!
